First off "Happy Holidays" to All! I want to take a minute to thank you for stopping by my blog and the Mercantile. I appreciate your business and friendship so very much!

I have been out of commission for a few weeks due to illness but I am coming in a little under the wire with 3 Christmas creations. I am having a problem with posting so in advance I apologize. My daughter usually helps me with my posting but couldn't today so I am winging it. Anyways my Parson Brown Peppermint Box is shown below but here is a brief description. I used an antique red box and mounted the coffee dyed osnaburg stitchery to the lid with an acid free adhesive spray. The box measures 7 3/4" wide x 7 3/4" long and 3 1/4" tall. Signed, dated & copyright 2011 by me. A sweet box to fill with peppermint sticks!

Merry Christmas Feather Tree Stitchery

This "Merry Christmas" stitchery was designed and stitched by me. It features a feather tree standing in a basket with pip berry vines below its boughs. I have tiny glowing cranberry candles and candy canes hanging from its branches. Two evergreen cluster with berries accent the top of the stitchery. I did my stitching on osnaburg, dyed it with coffee and then mounted it in black antique frame. There is glass and a sawtooth hanger on the back. The measurements are 13" wide by 10" long. It will signed, dated and copyright 2011. A lovely stitchery for hanging above your mantle or shelf.

Christmas Greetings Sampler

This "Christmas Greetings" sampler features a brown saltbox, a Christmas tree, 2 large light blue snowflakes, the year 1853 and 2 holly leaves. It was designed and cross stitched by me on fiddlers cloth and then dyed with coffee for antique look. I love the old time look of this piece. The best part is what I mounted it to. I found an old wooden cement float block at an Antique Shop. It leans back and rests on the handle. I was going to paint it but decided I liked the plain, natural look. It measures 11 1/4" wide and 5" tall. It was mounted to the board with an acid free adhesive spray. A fun piece to use with your displays. I had it sitting on my farm table with some greens and it looked wonderful. It will be signed, dated and copyright 2011.

"Harvest Thyme" stitchery for Prims Magazine

I am offering my 'Harvest Thyme" stitchery that was designed and stitched especially for the Fall 2011 issue of "Prims Magazine". For this piece I stitched a huge pumpkin in various orange shades along with beautiful Autumn leaves, sunflowers, bittersweet branches and a crescent moon. I did my stitching on coffee dyed osnaburg. I used a large antique brown frame that measures 12 1/2" wide x 15" long. There is glass and a sawtooth hanger. It will come signed and dated 4/2011 by me for Prims Magazine.

Something Special...

I have had my 1st stitchery published in the 2011 Fall issue of Prims Magazine. I am a very happy girl, it was always a dream that Sue and I had hoped for some day. My stitchery is featured along with other artwork from the Tdipt Mercantile Group, To Dwell in Primitve Thymes. There is a 10 page spread with a wonderful article written by our own Karen Brady Hammontree of Brady Bear Studio's. Karen, as well as some of the other girls who she collabrated this article with lovingly dedicated the article to my sister Sue Zaliks memory. This has touched me deeply and I thank them from the bottom of my heart. Prims magazine will also be featuring the remaining artists in their 2012 January issue. For some reason my picture disappeared within the last hour for "Parson Brown". Blogger was not cooperating earlier today, so they must be having troubles. I haven't been able to get the picture back on yet either. I'll try later but regardless it has "SOLD" already.

Well it is on to another stitching season for me already! I am offering my "Parson Brown Sled Co." design that I stitched on osnaburg. It features Parson Brown the snowman, from that old Christmas song, "Winter Wonderland". He has with him his olde red sled. After stitching I dyed this piece with coffee and the mounted it in this old white antique frame with its ornate corners. It measures 9 3/4"wide x 7 3/4" long. There is glass and a sawtooth for hanging. It is still small enough to display on a shelf. It will come signed, dated and copyright 2011.

~Winter Wools~ Needlepunch Nesting box

This needle punch was designed and punched by me on weavers cloth with Valdani and dmc threads. I punched a pair of mittens with some snowflakes on a black background. I finished off the edge with a black cording and then mounted the piece to the lid of the box with an acid free adhesive spray. I painted the paper mache box black and then stenciled on some scattered snowflakes. This box would look great sitting on table near your front door to store some of your mittens and gloves in. The box measures 10" in diameter and is 5" high. It will be signed, dated and copyright 2011 on the inside of the box lid.

Happy Fall and Hallowe'en soon too. I am just giving you all something different to look at here on my blog. This is what my daughter, Katie and I have been doing this summer. We have made up these Spooky old bottles for my friends antique shop, the Romantic Boutique in Waterford Pa. On Oct. 1st she is having "Witches Night Out" at her shop. It is sure to be fun. If you live in the surrounding Erie, Pa. area stop in! We took this pictures in my kitchen before taking them to the shop.

~Black Cat Broom Co~ stitchery box

Here is an old cheese box I made up with a mounted stitchery and a small broom. I have stitched a black scrawny cat along with a broom and it reads "Black Cat Broom Co". I did my stitching on osnaburg, coffee dyed it and then mounted it to the box with an acid free adhesive spray. The broom IS included the leaves are NOT. I tied a piece of black & tan homespun around the neck of the broom along with a olde witch tag and rusty bell. The broom looks really cute laying in the box, you can add your own little pumpkins, leaves or acorns to make a really sweet display. The box measures 11 1/2" wide x 3 1/2" deep and 3 1/2" high. It will be signed, dated and copyright 2011 on the bottom of the box.

~Pumpkin & Bittersweet~ stitchery pillow

Here is a sweet pillow to set out on one of your old chairs or you could use it in a cupboard mixed in with some bittersweet and your pumpkins. My stitching was done on osnaburg and I have a plump pumpkin in different shades of oranges surrounded by bittersweet vines and 4 gold Autumn leaves. I sewed pumpkin wool strips on each side and on the top and bottom are mustard/tan wool strips. It is backed with coffee dyed osnaburg and then stuffed lightly with polyfil. I attached a pumpkin stamped tag & rusty bell by a rusty safety pin in the corner for a primitive look. Measurements are 8"x8". This is my design and will come sign, dated & copyright 2011 on the back.

I have really lucked out on finding old boxes this summer, which I am thrilled about! I am enjoying making them up, for me, they are something a little different to offer my buyers. This is another old cigar box that comes from Pa. For this box I designed and stitched up " The Little Olde Witch Tea Shoppe". I have a cute little witch dressed in a black cape and red skirt. Of course, she has on her hat and is holding her trusty broom. I did my stitching on osnaburg, coffee dyed it and then mounted it with an acid free adhesive spray to the lid. Pumpkin and Bittersweet Needle Punch Box

This is a duplicate design from a needlepunch I did last year and sold. I couldn't believe it but I came across an identical box last week. I decided to use the same pattern. Plain and simple, just a ripe old pumpkin with 2 bittersweet branches and two mustard leaves punched on a brown background. It is finished off with a mustard color cord. I did the punching on weavers cloth with Valdani & dmc threads. It is attached to the box with an acid free adhesive spray and small tack nails for extra security. The old brown box has a slant on the inside which would be perfect to lay a wood laddle in perhaps for scooping up some putka pods or potpourri mix. For display purposes I used some tiny pinecones. The box measures 9"wide x 6" high and 4 " deep. It will be signed, dated and copyright 2011 on the bottom. A fun box to decorate up with some Fall goodies.

This offering is for my "Black Crow Candy Co." stitchery box. I designed and stitched this piece on osnaburg, coffee dyed and then mounted it to an antique cigar box. The box is in excellent shape. I used an acid free adhesive spray to mount the fabric to the box. Featured on the stitchery is a black crow, some scattered candy corn, and it reads "Salem's finest est 1692". Here is a small Autumn stitchery of two small white pumpkins and a big old orange one with some creeping bittersweet vines. Just a simple little piece designed and stitched by me. It was done on osnaburg, then coffee dyed and put in a tarnished ornate antique frame. Perfect as a shelf sitter or it can be hung up. Jack O'Lantern Candle Shoppe stitchery box

I found this cool box at antique shop but I don't know what it was originally used for. Maybe a paint box, draftsman box or for tools. Anyways I liked it and I decided it would hold candles, so I created "Jack O' Lantern Candle Shoppe". I have, of course, a Jack O' Lantern along with some burning candles on each side. "1692 Salem" is stitched at the bottom. I did my stitching on osnaburg, coffee dyed it and then attached the stitchery to the box with an acid free adhesive spray. The box measures 10"wide x 6" deep and 1 1/2" high. There is a small latch on the front. It is a one of a kind that will be signed, dated and copyright 2011 on the bottom of the box.

Black Crow Hollow stitchery

Yep, it is another "Black Crow Hollow" but a different design. I just like this title, it kind of says it all. I stitched this pretty big fellow perched in a bare tree with a pumpkin below on the ground. I used an antique ornate painted black frame. There is glass and hooks and eyes on the back for hanging. It measures 7" wide x 10" long. It is still small enough to set in a cupboard or up on a shelf if you choose not to hang it. I did my stitching on onsaburg & then it was dyed with coffee. The fabric is darker than the photo shows. It will come signed, dated and copyright 2011. A great piece for your Fall and Halloween decorating.

~Black Cat & Jack~ stitchery paddle

Well, I have been hold up in my house with the AC going full blast the past few day stitching! Here are 2 new designs that I came up with. This cute little paddle is a stitchery of a black cat sitting on a Jack O'Lantern with the date Oct. 31st and 2 stars above. I did my stitching on coffee dyed osnaburg and then attached it with an acid free adhesive spray to this little wood paddle. The paddle is pretty distressed looking with white and black paint and some of the natural wood showing too. I tied dark twine around the handle with rusty bells and an aged prim tag the reads "A Jolly Halloween". There is a nail hole in the handle so you can hang it or you can just lean it on a shelf or set it up in a cupboard. It measures 6"wide across and 10 1/2" from the top of handle to the bottom.

Here is a stitchery that I think you can use for your Fall and Halloween decorating. I designed and stitched this big old black crow and his pumpkins on coffee dyed osnaburg. Please note that the fabric is darker than the photo. 'Oct. 31' is stitched at the bottom with 'Black Crow Hollow' at the top. I used a black frame that measures 7" wide x 14" long, there is glass and sawtooth hanger. This larger stitchery will look great on a narrow wall in your home.

White Pumpkin Stitchery Pillow

It has been ages since I stitched up a stitchery pillow. Sue and I use to do them all the time for shows. This pillow is so sweet, very plain and simple. I stitched a white pumpkin and surrounded it with a brown grapevine and tiny mustard berries. It was stitched on osnaburg, coffee dyed and then I sewed strips of dark chocolate brown fabric that has small mustard leaves. It it backed with osnaburg and stuffed with polyfil. The measurements are about 10"x 10". A nice size Autumn pillow for a chair or rocker.

Hallows Eve Wool Comb paddle stitchery

Here is another one of those wonderful sheep wool combs. It is the same as the one I used on a needle punch earlier this summer. I stitched up a little "Hallows Eve" stitchery on coffee dyed onsaburg for this comb. I have a Jack O Lantern and Black Cat along with some tiny "x's". I attached the stitchery with self adhesive fabric spray. Around the handle is rusty wire and bells. The back of the comb reads "Old Whittemore Patent No 8 Wool,L>S. Watson & Co, Leicester Mass." Overall measurements are 9" wide x 8 3/4" from top to bottom. A fun piece for your Halloween displays.

Olde Salem Annual Pumpkin Fair stitchery

Here is a cute little Autumn scene for your decorating come this Fall. I have designed and stitched 3 different colors and shaped pumpkins along with a black cat and an old witches broom. I did my stitching on osnaburg and dyed it with coffee. Please note the fabric is darker than my photo shows. I used an antique frame that I left untouched. Personally I like how the gold frame picks up the color of the cats eyes and the broom. It is also a nice color for Autumn. The frame has glass, measurements are 13" wide by 11"long with a sawtooth hanger. The stitchery will be signed, dated and copyright 2011.

Little Olde Witch Pumpkin Sale stitchery

Here is a whimsical little stitchery I worked up this week that I hope you'll like. I did my stitching on osnaburg, then coffee stained it and frame it up in this wonderful frame. Crow Hollow Pumpkin Festival Stitchery

I am so happy to be back to listing more designs! Life has finally slowed down some what for me and I now have more time to create. I usually wait til July to start on Fall and Halloween but I just couldn't wait!

This design is of an old black crow resting on a chubby pumpkin with "Crow Hollow Pumpkin Festival" stitched at the top. I did my stitching on osnaburg and it was dyed with coffee. For this offering I used a wonderful skinny antique black frame. It has a tiny raised ornate edging and an old ring for hanging. FYI there is a small chip in the wood at the top of the frame but it just adds to the old charm. It measures 5" wide x 11 1/2" long and there is glass.

Such a darling stitchery to grace a narrow wall on your home this Autumn.

Basketful of Autumn Leaves Stitchery

Well folks this is the last one of the original models that Sue and I used for our 2008 Basket stitchery calendars. I came across this one the other day when I was cleaning out my sewing room. I have the copies of the calendar pages I use for framing so I thought I would go ahead and offer this original. The stitchery was stitched on coffee dyed osnaburg and I used a black distressed that measures 10 1/2" wide x 8 1/2" long. There is glass and a sawtooth hanger. It is signed by me, stitched and dated 9/2007. A wonderful Autumn accent for your wall this Fall.

Needle Punched Pumpkin Pillow

This offering is for a needle punch and wool pillow. It is a very simple design of just a single pumpkin but a lot of work and love was put into the punching and sewing. The finest wool and Valdani threads were used for this pillow. On the front I sewed strips of a dark chocolate wool and the back is a wonderful pumpkin wool. This little pillow will look so perfect in a cupboard or resting on a small chair. It measures about 8 1/2" wide x 6 1/2" long and was stuffed with polyfil. Primitive Rabbit & Chick Cupboard Hanger

This little needle punch hanger would look so sweet hanging from a cupboard knob, off a hook or peg nail for your Easter or Spring decorating. I designed this needle punch on weavers cloth, using Valdani and DMC threads. I coffee dyed it and then hand sewed a cranberry cording around the edge and a nice chocolate brown wool for the back. The cord hanger is attached by rusty safety pins so you can take off the hanger if you like. The measurements are 6" wide by 4 1/2" long. It is stuffed with polyfil so it is nice and light for hanging. It is a one of kind and is signed on the back on a fabric swatch.

Cottontail Chocolates Box

This is a neat old box to use in your Easter decorating, or perhaps to mix in with your Chocolate Rabbits. I used an old wooden cigar box that I purchased at an Antiques shop. On the front side of the box 'Selected Special Edition' is engraved, which I thought could pertain to a box of chocolates. It has a sliding lock on the front. I would recommend keeping it locked as one of the hinges on the back is pulling out a little. It is an old box as I stated. I designed and cross stitched this simple little jumping rabbit with "Cottontail Chocolates" all in brown on fiddlers cloth. It was dyed with coffee and then mounted to the lid with an acid free adhesive spray. The measurements are 9 1/2"wide x 6" deep x 3" high. A cute box for the very prim decorator. Peter Rabbits Cupboard Hanger

These cupboard hanging pillows are so fun to make up. This one is all stenciled in spring colors with 2 cute bunnies and "Peter Rabbits Fresh Garden Veggies". It was stenciled on osnaburg and dyed with coffee. I used polyfil to stuff it, so it is nice and light to hang and won't tilt over so much. I like to use them hanging off a chair. I sewed a springy green striped fabric for the backing and attached a twine string by rusty safety pins for the hanger. It will be signed and dated on a prim hang tag. Measurements are about 7 1/2"wide x 5 1/2" long.

Primitive Sampler Storage Book

This is my first creation for 2011, finally! It has been kind of hard to get back into the swing of things since the Holidays. I am very excited about this new offering, I made one for myself already. Unfortunately there will only be two of these made, mine and yours. It is a book that I purchased at Michaels Arts and Crafts. It is a wood book covered with old gray canvas that was torn and ripped up. It is lined with a dark purple velvet and has a hidden magnetic closure. I was first using the book as it was for storing and hiding my threads, needles and such. I could just close it up and it would look like a book on my table. I got the idea to stitch up a sewing themed sampler for the cover of the book. I cross stitched my design on fiddlers cloth and then coffee dyed it, pressed and turned it under and hand stitched a hem. I nailed the fabric to the book with tiny rusted nails. On the binding of the book I have stamped a wise old owl and a hanging skelton key for additional whimsy. I am included some old sewing goodies, a spool of thread, an old spindle, a package of hooks and cute little pair of gold trimmed scissors. The book measures 10" long x 6 1/2" wide and 2" deep. A wonderful creation to hold your sewing needs and makes a nice primitive decoration. Signed, dated and copyright 2011.

This is another piece for the New Year that I cross stitched using a pattern from Country Stitches. I have been in the mood for cross stitching so I did this one that was originally called a Spring Time Sampler. I changed it up a bit and stitched an additional band at the bottom with a key, the year 1881 and a heart. As you will notice some of the letters of the alphabet are missing which was done quite often on older samplers. I love the charm of this sampler and it will make a wonderful decorating accent in a Primitive or Colonial home. I used a black distressed wood frame. The measurements are 9 1/2" wide x 11 1/2" long, there is glass and an attached rope for hanging. The sampler was stitched on fiddlers cloth and aged with coffee.

Ella's Alphabet

I've been snowed in for 3 days and decided to work up an everyday cross stitched sampler. It is made to look as if a young girl, Ella has been practicing her needlework. She has cross stitched her alphabet along with a few simple motifs, her name, age and the year 1808. A very plain and simple design that I created and stitched on coffee dyed toweling. It is stitched in black, mustard and an old blue. A sweet schoolgirl sampler for your home. I used a black distressed frame with glass and a hanger on the back. The measurements are 10 1/4" wide x 12 1/4" long. It will be signed, dated and copyright 2010. A wonderful piece for the sampler collector!

Merry Christmas Ditty Bag

Here is another one of my "stitched, stenciled and stuffed" designs. Although this one is not stuffed with polyfil or batting, I still consider it stuffed! Stuffed with some goodies. Included are 2 chenile candy canes and my homegrown Sweet Annie bundle. This was my first attempt at growning and harvesting Sweet Annie this Fall. It's not as fragrant as I hoped for but it is pretty all the same. I stenciled a tiny feather tree on the front of a piece of coffee dyed osnaburg which is darker than my photo. I stitched "Merry Christmas" at the top of the bag in cranberry thread. A band of red ticking was sewn along the top and 3 rusty bells dangled from the cuffed ticking. I attached a thin red and antique white string by 2 rusty safety pins for the hanger. A little prim ditty to hang off a knob, nail, peg or hook for your Holiday decorating. The total length of the bag including the handle is 15" and is 8 1/2" wide. It comes signed, dated and copyright 2010.

Merry Christmas Tree Stitchery

I am offering this old looking Christmas tree stitchery today. I have stitched a small but full tree decorated with glowing candles on its branches and topped with a star. I designed and stitched this piece on coffee dyed osnaburg and mounted it to a self stick adhesive mounting board. I used a wood frame that I painted black and distressed. Here is another fun "Stitched, Stenciled and Stuffed" hanging pillow that I designed for the Holidays. I did my stitching and stenciling on coffee dyed osnaburg. It's stitched in barn red and reads "Dashing Through The Snow". Children riding a sled was stenciled in barn red. I backed the pillow with red ticking and filled it with polyfil. I attached coffee dyed cheese cloth strips by rusty safety pins for the hanger. A rusty bell and a candy cane hang tag are tied in the one corner. The measurements are 9 1/2" w x 7 1/2" L. Christmas Blessings Stitchery

Well I am back in the stitching mode again! So many of you have been asking about my stitcherys and samplers so I made up two this week. This one is for a tall Christmas Pine with "1890 Christmas Blessings" at the top. I accented the corners with some evergreen boughs. It was stitched on osnaburg and then coffee dyed for a primitive look. The frame is antique, I love the narrow size. These skinny ones are getting harder and harder to come by. I left the frame untouched, there is glass, and an attached rope for hanging. Measurements are 5'w x 15"l. This piece will come signed, dated, and copyright 2010 on the back. A nice touch to your Holiday decorating.

October, a time to celebrate the Harvest, the Beauty and All Things Scary! What better time to have a 'giveaway' and a little fun!

My giveaway is for my Halloween pillow hanger, "Witches~1692~Ball". It's a new design by me that has been "stitched, stenciled and stuffed". Three stenciled dancing witches along with Witches~1692~Ball is stitched on a piece of coffee dyed osnaburg. It is backed with osnaburg also and then was stuffed with polyfil. I attached a cat hang tag with a rusty bell to a coffee dyed cheese cloth hanger. The cheese cloth is attached by rusty safety pins and could be removed if you didn't want to hang it. But I think it would look so cute hanging off a hook, chair or door knob. It measures about 8"wide by 6" long. It is signed and dated 2010 on the back.
I had so much fun making this up that I will no doubt be doing some more 'stitched, stenciled and stuffed' pieces.

Full Moon Fables Needle Punch Book

I love how this needle punch book turned out. I did another one a few weeks ago of a Raven in the Tdipt Mercantile. This old weathered and torn book is really a box. The inside is covered with a purple velvet. My needle punch is of a black cat in front of a full moon with the book titled "Full Moon Fables". I stamped a small black cat on the side of the book. I did my punching on weavers cloth with Valdani threads and finished it off with a black hand sewed cord. I attached the needle punch to the book with black carpet tacks. The book measures 6 1/2" by 10" long. This OOAK will come signed, dated and copyright 2010 on the back. For an added little something I have an old looking bottle inside that I made with a scary label "Sanderson Potions Vampire Fangs". This book can be used with your Halloween displays or could be left out all year long if you like Cats!

Needle Punch Log Cabin Flat

To me a log cabin always seems like an Autumn thing, nestled in the trees with leaves falling everywhere. I designed and punched this flat piece with a log cabin, 2 fat pumpkins, some leaves and a tall bare tree. I used Valdani threads on weavers cloth for my punching. It is edged with a hand sewed tan cord and then backed with a beautiful scalloped orange wool that was also sewed. A fabric swatch with my name and date is stitched on the back. It measures about 9 1/2" in diameter. This OOAK will look wonderful laying on table mixed in with your Fall goodies.

Needle Punch Snowman Candle Paddle

For those of you who Christmas shop early or may want to put a little treat aside for yourself I have this sweet Snowman Candle Paddle. Designed and punched by me on weavers cloth with Valdani threads I have a snowman decked out in his winter apparel with 3 little snowflakes. I have a mustard color cording along the edge of the needle punch sewed for a finished look. I then mounted the piece with an acid free adhesive spray to the candle paddle. This wonderful paddle is from my tdipt sister, Pam of Goldieloo Woodworks. I painted the paddle black over a deep red and sanded it and then buffed with mini wax for an aged look. A piece of homespun is tied around the neck of the paddle along with 2 rusty bells and a snowflake. The measurements are about 6 1/2" wide by 13" long. This OOAK will come signed, dated and copyright 2010 on the back. Sure to become a keepsake and enjoyed for many years.

"Fall" Needle Punch Ditty Bag

This little "Fall" needle punch ditty bag is another one of my designs. It features a single leaf with acorns and "fall" punched in the corner. It was punched in wonderful oranges and reds on a multicolor tan background. I used Valdani threads and it was punched on weavers cloth. A wonderful dark red wool is hand sewn on the back with a bittersweet color cording along the edge of the bag and is also used for the hanger. I attached the cording with rusty safety pins and a tag is sewn inside the bag with signature, dated and copyright 2010. The bag measures about 4x6.

Jack O'Lantern Needle Punch Ditty Bag

This little needle punch ditty bag that I designed and punched is a Jack O'Lantern with a green hat sitting on a ghost bottom that says "Boo" and a mustard star in the corner. I did my punching on weavers cloth with a black background using Valdani threads. I hand sewed a braided cord along the edge and the same cording is used for hanger. I attached the hanging cord by rusty safety pins. I hand sewed a piece of black wool on the back. On the inside is a tag that I signed, dated and copyright 2010. Is it Spring Yet??? Thanks for stopping by to view a few of my new Spring Thyme offerings.

Here is a little spring peep and tulip needle punch that I mounted on a mini bread or chopping board. It is the cutest little board I found at a local antiques store. There is a handle and a leather tie. I did my punching on weavers cloth with beautiful Valdani threads, it was coffee dyed and then mounted with an acid free adhesive. You can't tell from the photo but the boarder is a dark purple to accent the tulip. I also nailed in some carpet tacks to give it a little bit more of a prim appearance. Measurements are including handle, 7 3/4" long x 3 1/2" wide. If you are finding yourself in need of a little more something for an Easter basket or a display, this small punch would be perfect. Needle Punch Bee Skep

My second offering this week is for my Needle Punch Bee Skep. It looks very old punched with the darker background threads and has the feel of an old carpet or rug. I used Valdani threads, punched on weavers cloth and then mounted to this old wood pan with acid free adhesive and carpet tacks. I think this unusual board was some kind of dust pan or bread crumb catcher. I'm not for sure on that, but I just thought it was a neat board. There are also some curly etching in the wood. There is a slot at the top for hanging on a nail. I slipped a piece of brown suede cord through the slot for hanging longer. It can be removed it you want. The measurements are 7" wide by 6" long. A one of a kind designed and punched by me. It will be signed, dated and copyright.

Bee Skep Hanging Stitchery

I have stitched on a little hanging pinkeep stitchery of a bee skep, bees and some curly vines. It was stitched all in very dark brown almost black with 2 strands of dmc threads on Moda fabric. I used a waxy dark brown twine for the hanger which was attached with rusty safety pins, bells and bows. It's an adorable spring thyme hanger for a peg, nail or knob. It was very lightly coffee dyed, the backing (which I forgot to photo is tan with tiny white flowers, take my word for it, it is pretty and compliments the front perfectly). I stuffed it with some polyfil and muslin snipets. The measurements are a tiny 3"wide x 5"long. Designed and stitched by me, it will be copyright, dated and signed. Bring some spring into your home, its long overdue!!

It was coffee dyed for that old time prim look we love. I hand sewed a nice brown wool on the back, attached a piece of coffee dyed cheese cloth by 2 rusty safety pins and slipped in a sprig of Sweet Annie. Bunny, Basket & Flag

This little chocolate bunny is ready for spring and summer, much like the rest of us!
I stitched this bunny with his spring basket, flag and yellow tulips. I did my stitching on coffee dyed osnaburg. This cute primitive blue frame looks wonderful with this design. There is glass and sawtooth hanger. Measurements are 8 3/4" x 8 3/4". A nice size that can either be hung up or it is small enough to prop up in a cupboard. It will come signed, dated and copyright.

Bunny Rabbit with Eggs

Here is a little Easter vignette I made using a needle punch design that I put on an old cheese box with some eggs in it. I needle punched my leaping rabbit between 2 tulips. It was punched on weavers cloth with Valdani and DMC threads. I attached the design with an acid free adhesive and some tiny carpet tacks in the corners. I filled the box with brown and green sea moss and 3 eggs. I painted the eggs mustard, aged them and buffed them up with some minwax. The glittery tulips on the eggs are stickers from Martha Stewart. If they are a little too flashy for you, just turn the eggs around. The dark brown cheese box measures 9"x3"x3". I had alot of fun putting this one together and I think it would look so cute sitting on someones cupboard or shelf this Eastertime! An original design, signed, dated and copyright.

Three Christmas Stockings and Mittens Needle punch

This needle punch was designed and punched by me. I have 3 different colored striped stockings and 2 old grey mittens hanging from an evergreen bough with 2 snowflakes accenting the sides. I did my punching on coffee dyed weavers cloth using the 6 strand method with dmc and valdani thread. I mounted the needle punch to a painted black tin with an acid free adhesive. There are holes in each of the corners and I ran a wire evergreen and pinecone swag up and through the holes for hanging. The is also a little rusty star attached to the top of the swag. Measurements are 12"w x 8"L. A unique piece for your Holiday decorating this year and for years to come.

Christmas Tree Ditty Bag

This little ditty bag is full of some Christmas treats -Fresh Sweet Annie, Evergreen branches and some berry sprigs. I stitched up a simple Christmas tree on coffee dyed flour cloth, sewed some red and cream ticking along the bottom and top, ran a twine drawstring through and attached a candy cane hang tag, a small chenelle candy cane and 2 rusty bells. A matching ticking strap was stitched on for the hanger. A nice size for hanging up somewhere in your home for the Holidays. Measurements are 18" long including the hanger and 6" wide.

Just a Pumpkin!

Well this is the end of my Fall Offerings for the year, as sad as it!
Although I may have a few Thanksgiving pieces yet! It is time to turn my designing thoughts to Christmas! This is a very simple lone pumpkin that I needle punched and put in this small old oval frame. It is metal and someone painted it a burnt rusty lumpy orange color which compliments the pumpkin nicely. I did my punching on weavers cloth with Valdani floss and then coffee dyed it. The original small clasp ring is on the back for hanging. The frame measures 7 1/2"w x 51/2"L.

Pumpkin Harvest Box

This is a neat old box I found at an antiques store that I believe was used to hold mail or envelopes. I left it untouched and designed and punched three little pumpkins and some leaves for it. A fun box to fill up with some Autumn goodies, like berries, drieds, leaves or candles. I did my punching on weavers cloth with Valdani and dmc floss and then dyed it with coffee. It measures 7 1/2" long x 5" tall and 2" deep. Candles and berries are not included.

White Pumpkin Pocket

Here is a little needle punch pocket that I designed and punched. I have a simple white pumpkin on a black background. I frayed the edges on the four sides giving it a primitive look and then I hand sewed the black back wool pocket. I did my punching on weavers cloth using dmc floss and dyed it with coffee to age it up a bit. I used an old black and white tie for hanging that came off of an old antique hat box. The tie is attached with rusty safety pins in case you would want to display it flat. I have a small sprig of Sweet Annie and some white berries tucked in. This small pocket measures 4 1/4"x4 1/2". It will cute hanging from a hook or off a knob. Happy Fall!

Autumn Giveaway

I am a berry freak and just found these the other day at a local Prim shop. I put some brown basket shred in the box too. The box measures 3 3/4"x 3 3/4"x 2"" tall. Log Cabin Wood Carpenters Box

On the front of this small black carpenter style tool box I have a tiny log cabin scene needle punch. Punched and designed by me on coffee dyed weavers cloth is a log cabin, a bare tree, a green falling leaf and a pumpkin. I used carpet tacks to secure the piece to the box. The black distressed box measures 7 1/2" tall x 7 1/4" wide & 3" deep. You can fill it up with some of your favorite fall goodies, whether it be some Autumn drieds, putka pods or even some candy corn! I am sure you can find a spot for this cute Autumn box. Pumpkin & Crow Needle Punch Pillow

This needle punch Autumn pillow was designed and punched by me on weavers cloth using dmc and Valdani thread. I have a black crow with an autumn leaf in his beak in front of a big old pumpkin. The needle punch design was hand sewn to primitive green wool strips then I machined the back with matching wool. It was filled with ployfil and the measurements are about 9 1/2" long x 5 1/2" wide. A sweet pillow to sit on a small chair or prop it up in a cupboard with your Autumn displays.

Crow & Pumpkin Needle Punch Keepsake Box

This Autumn needle punch box has an old crow with some acorns hanging from his beak, a plump pumpkin, and some scattered fall leaves. I designed and punched this piece on coffee dyed weavers cloth using Valdani and dmc thread. I attached it to the top of the box with an acid free spray adhesive. The box was painted black and distressed on the outside, I left the inside as is. This Autumn box will look great sitting on a table or you can turn it on its side and put it in a cupboard for a different view. The box measures 4 1/2"x11 1/2" long and 2 1/2"tall.

Broom and Witch Hat Pocket

This little hanger I made up consists of a small broom for a peg rail, nail or hook with a needle punch pocket. The 1692 Witches needle punch was punched using 3 stands of Valdani thread on weavers cloth. I hand sewed a wool yarn around the edge with a dark camel back. It hangs from a black corded braid that loops around a strip of coffee stained cheese cloth I attached a tiny rusty star and a bell and button by a rusty safety pin to the cheese cloth. I slipped some sweet annie sprigs into the pocket. Overall measurements are 12" long x 3 1/2" wide at the bottom. This was designed by me and punched by me. A cute hanger for your Halloween fun!! This is last of these reversible frames that I have had, at least for awhile! I am still on the search for more. I decided to stitch up an Everyday stitchery for it. A simple sheep and willow tree piece that can be left out all year. I designed and stitched this piece on coffee dyed osnaburg. The frame measures 9 1/2" tall and at its widest at the base measuring 13 1/2" across, the tiny shelf is a little over 2" deep. There is glass and 2 sawtooth hangers on the back. Simply remove the stitchery from the back by the tabs to change the position so you can use it on your wall or stand it up anywhere in your home.

Primitive Pumpkin Trio

I really enjoyed making up these sweet pumpkins, it was quite a change for me! I used a pattern from Country Stitches for the pumpkins and then added my own finishing touches on each one of them. They were made from osnaburg, stuffed with poly fil, then painted a wonderful burnt orange and then buffed with brimwax. I used twigs from my yard for the stems, added some rusty metal leaves, raffia, homespun, rusty curled wire, dried wheat stem, some natural cornstalk and primitive Fall hang tags. They look really cute grouped all together or your could divide them up and sit them around the house. The largest measures from top of stem 10"high x 7"wide, the medium is 7" high x 5" wide and the smallest is 5"x5".

Mini Flag Ditty Bag

Be the first purchase made for my 4th of July items and you get this little Flag ditt bag. I cross stitched a tiny flag and "usa" onto a coffee dyed counted thread swatch, frayed the edges and ran a cranberry running stitch to attach it to the coffee dyed bag. I ran a piece of cranberry ribbon through the bag for the draw string and then put in a small bundle of Sweet Annie. The little bag measures 5 1/2"x 5 1/2". It will come signed, dated and copyright 2009 on a tag I slipped inside the bag. Looks cute hanging off a nail or hook for a touch of Americana in your home.

Primitive Flag Bowl & Filler Set

I have had this red and white ticking for some time now and thought it would make such cute little bowl filler pillows. I sewed up 3 of them, each one has a different blue and star swatch in the corner and all three are backed with a navy flannel. I stuffed them each with crushed walnut shells for a nice heavier feel and then stained them up and attached an aged "usa" crow hang tag by rusty bells and rusty safety pins tied with pieces of dyed cheese cloth. The next part I think you'll like, I did the shopping for you and this wonderful bowl is included! I found it at a my favorite primitive shop. It is an off white crackled bowl and measures about 9". Also while I was at the shop I came across this really neat vine. Its called Angel Hair Vine and I had never seen it before and I snatched it up. I just love it! The little pillows measure a tiny 4 1/2" wide x 2 1/2" long. Now for once I can say bowl and vine included and not just for display. I think you will easily find a spot for this charming Americana arrangement!

1776 Old Glory Ditty Bag

I have another ditty bag I stitched up, but this one is a Patriotic bag for your holiday decorating, hang it up a knob, nail or hook. I aged up some flour sack cloth with coffee and stitched a flag, crow and 1776 on the front of it. There is an aged drawstring to gather up the bag along with an "old glory" and crow hang tag. A cranberry metal star are also attached by a rusty safety pin. I then stuffed it with some muslin to give it some fullness at the bottom. To finish off the bag I have included red, white and blue berries and a small sprig of Sweet Annie. The bag measures 7" wide x 8 1/2" long and will be signed, dated and copyright 2009 on a tag I stuck inside the bag.

Americana Flag Needle Punch Box

I have needle punched a longer primitive style flag with a single star using 4 strands of dmc floss onto weavers cloth. It was dyed up with coffee and then attached to the front of this oval paper mache box using an acid free glue. The box is crackled and has a nice mellow old yellow to it. I can't take credit for the box, I purchased it at one of my favorite prim shops. I did however stencil 3 barn red stars to the lid to accent the red in the flag. The box measures 8" wide x 3 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" deep. Just a darling little box to set out for the 4th or tuck in cupboard and leave it out all year. The bottom of the box will be signed, dated and copyright 2009.

Black, White & Cream

Welcome to my "Black, White and Cream Theme". This week I have gone a different route and inside of a "Red White and Blue Theme", I came up with some black, white and cream pieces. I hope you will enjoy looking around! I am also having a "giveaway", be the first to make a purchase and you will receive a freebie! (I love doing this!)

Here's my giveaway! A charming small black, white and cream journal. This was fun making up! I used a paper mache notebook and covered it with a wonderful black, white and cream slightly embossed scrap booking paper. I attached an old photograph of woman on the front, I punched 4 holes into the book and picture and ran black floss through it and tied it on the inside. I looped a black ribbon around the binding of the book and attached an old skeleton key (its an antique one) with coffee dyed cheese cloth to the ribbon. The journal measures 4"x6" Just a cute little decorating accent for your home from me to you. It's been WON!

Fooled ya! You'll have to scan down to see the black, white and cream pieces. I had a few requests for more of these ditty bags, so here is another. Note: I am still in search for more of these old linen towels that I am using for these(so check back often if you are too late for this one). Anyways, this ditty bag has a willow tree hand stitched on to it. It is an old piece of linen dish toweling with small tears in it and then I grunged it up with coffee. I made a drawstring slot and slid in a dyed piece of roping that's nice and long. I attached 2 rusty bells by a rusty safety pin and also a willow tree hang tag also attached by a rusty pin. Also is an antique skeleton key. I put a generous bundle of fragrant sweet annie into the sack. The sack measures 7"x8". Looks so cute dangling from a nail or hook.

Willows and Crows Pinkeep

This little pinkeep was cross stitched on 14 count thread fiddlers cloth. I have 2 folky little birds, 2 willow trees, the year 1803 and a black bow. I attached a black cord style ribbon by two rusty safety pins and tied them in a bow for hanging, I like how the black bow compliments the black cross stitched bow. I also attached a willow tree hang tag and 2 cream buttons. Everything can be detached if desired. On the back I used toile fabric and I have a little sewn pocket that I put a little tied sprig of sweet annie into. The entire pinkeep was dyed with coffee and stuffed with snipets of fabric and some crushed walnut shells. A sweet piece to hang on a hook or remove the ribbon and use for your pins or can even be used as a bowl filler. It will come signed, dated and copyright 2009 by me on a tag I slipped into the pocket.

"Wool"

This sweet small sheep with a Shepherds Hook style hanging star is great for the sheep lover! It simply says "Wool" and of course was stitched in black, white and cream! My stitching was done on coffee dyed osnaburg and I used a black distressed deeper set small frame. The measurements are about 9"x9", there is glass and a sawtooth hanger. A plain and simple piece for a primitive sheep lover!

Here is a wonderful primitive staple for your home! A simple design of a full weeping willow tree and two olde black crows perched on the roots of the tree. I did my stitching on a wonderful piece of coffee dyed old linen. This great frame can stand or be hung up by the sawtooth hanger. Simply remove the stitchery from the back of the frame and switch it around. The black distressed frame has glass and the measurements are 14" wide x 9 1/2" long and the base/shelf is 2 1/2" deep. Willow Tree Sack

I had a lot of fun making this primitive willow tree sack! I used an old linen towel to make the sack, there are even a few small tear holes on the towel to add to the charm. I hand stitched a small weeping willow on the front and then heavily aged it with coffee. There is a aged draw string, 2 rusty bells, a skeleton key and hang tag attached by rusty safety pins. I stuffed the sack with a bunch of Sweet Annie. The sack measures about 8 1/2" long x 7" wide. It is signed on the back by me. This little bag looks so cute hanging from a hook, peg nail or knob.

Small Willow Tree

I designed and hand stitched this small willow tree off to the side. It was worked on an old piece of coffee dyed linen. This black distressed frame can be used standing or can be hung up by the sawtooth hanger. All you need to do is take the stitchery out from the back of the frame and flip it. The measurements are 7 1/2"wide at the base/shelf and 5 1/4" tall, and there is glass. It will come signed, dated and copyright 2009.

I designed and hand made this little hanging stitchery book. I have cross stitched a tiny willow tree along with the year '1803' on coffee dyed counted thread. I frayed the edges of the stitchery and glued it on top of a little composition notebook and covered it with old looking blue and cream paper. I stained up a piece of green ribbon and ran it up the side of the book and fastened it with a rusty safety pin. I then ran a rusty wire through the ribbon to use as a hanger. A little rusty bell is attached to the wire. The little book measures a very small 3 1/4" wide x 4 1/2" long, my initials are on the back. A sweet little book for hanging on a peg nail or knob.
